Over the years, I have had many a conversation with mums in business who aren’t coping with the pressure of it all (yes, it’s okay to admit that!). These women are experiencing emotional, physical, and mental burnout with little acknowledgement or support. Growing up in Tauranga, my childhood was all sunshine and surf vibes. I moved to the big smoke in 2010 for employment opportunities and had to get my skates on! I couldn’t have found myself in faster-paced jobs if I’d tried. Freight management, customer service and recruitment are full tilt industries that require full focus. I was privileged in these roles to build relationships with some incredible female clients and colleagues; women with families doing the mahi, only to go home and do more mahi! I realised these incredible women were just holding it together.

Covid has been our social and employment earthquake and in 2020, my professional landscape changed beyond recognition. When the dust cleared, I saw very clearly Covid had delivered a gift, an incredible opportunity to find my purpose and create The Helper, a service to support amazing women in business. I help them so they can spend more time with their families and have more fulfilling lives.
